While traditional email is ideal for one-on-one interaction, email lists advance the concept a step further by disseminating a single message simultaneously to a group of people. Email lists are typically configured for use either as one-way announcement lists or discussion lists. The main difference is that only the list owner or editor can write to a one-way list, whereas every list member can write to a discussion list.
- Decide which type of list you want. There are two main types of lists, one-way announcements and discussion.
- Come up with a name for the list.
- Decide who should be able to join the list.
- Contact Geoff Dyer (2637) and ask him to set up your new list.
This area will allow access to MSC public or private lists. It will allow viewing of public archives and also allow users to SUBSCRIBE, manage their subscriptions and post to their lists.
