The 2012 CollegeTown Film Series theme is "Coming of Age." The film lineup is:
"Repo Man," 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, with discussion led by Tom Ellington of Wesleyan College. Released in 1984, "Repo Man," is about Otto, a young punk who aids in auto theft then becomes a repo man, which shifts his world into wackiness.
"Kung Fu Hustle," 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, with discussion led by Craig Coleman of Mercer University. "Kung Fu Hustle," is the story of a wannabe gangster in 1940s Shanghai who wants to become part of the notorious Axe Gang.
"The Lookout," 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, with discussion led by Macon State's Patrick Brennan. In "The Lookout," Chris, a former high school athlete, experiences a tragic accident that changes his life. He tries to return to normality, taking job a as a bank janitor, where he ends up taking part in a heist.
All screenings are held at the Douglass Theatre, located at 355 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., in downtown Macon. Free parking is available next door to the theater at the Mulberry Street Parking Deck.
The CollegeTown Film Series compliments student life activities, supports downtown revitalization and gives students an enriching experience right here in Macon.
Students with valid ID cards will be admitted free. Admission for faculty, staff and the general public is $5, which includes a snack pass. Tickets may be purchased at the door on the night of each screening.

"Last Night," 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, with discussion led by Tom Ellington of Wesleyan College. Released in 1998, "Last Night," is about how a group of very different individuals come together to as the world is expected to end in six hours.
"Ghost Dog," 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, with discussion led by Craig Coleman of Mercer University. "Ghost Dog," is the story of an African American mafia hitman who models himself after the samurai and finds himself targeted for death.
"Children of Men," 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, with discussion led by Macon State's Patrick Brennan. In "Children of Men," humans can no longer procreate, but a miraculously pregnant woman gets help from a former activist to get to a sea sanctuary, where her child's birth may save the future of humankind.

"Psycho," 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, with discussion afterward led by Dr. Patrick Brennan of the Macon State College faculty. Released in 1960, "Psycho" is an engrossing character study in which director Alfred Hitchcock skillfully seduces you into identifying with the main characters.
“Old Boy,” 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, with discussion afterward led by Dr. Tom Ellington of the Wesleyan College faculty. Released in 2003, "Old Boy" is the story of a man who wakes up to find himself held in a prison for unknown reasons by an unknown jailer. Fifteen years later he gets his release, but no explanation for his imprisonment.
"Fight Club," 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, with discussion afterward led by Dr. Matt Oberrieder of the Mercer University faculty. Released in 1999, "Fight Club" is about an unnamed protagonist who is discontented with his white-collar job and forms a ‘fight club’ with soap salesman Tyler Durden.

January 31 – “I am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang” (1932) with discussion by Patrick Brennan, Macon State College. Originally banned in Georgia, this film was selected by U.S National Film registry as being "culturally, historically, and asthetically significant.
February 7 – “In the Heat of the Night” (1967) with discussion by Matt Oberrieder, Mercer University. Starring Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger, the Acadamy Award winner for Best Picture was released in the midst of the Civil Rights movement.
February 14 – “C.S.A. – The Confederate States of America” (2004) with discussion by Tom Wellington, Wesleyan College. This "mockumentary" takes a look at an alternative history in which the South won the Civil War.
