Students who have attended Macon State College within one academic year of application (either a fall, spring or summer term) and who have not attended any other institution in the interim are not required to reapply. Formerly enrolled students who have attended other institutions during that twelve month period since their initial enrollment at Macon State College must file an application for re-admission with the Office of the Registrar and must furnish official transcripts from each institution attended since last attending Macon State College. Former students who have not attended Macon State College within the last twelve months or who were dismissed academically or suspended under the Learning Support Exclusion policy must file an application for re-admission with the Office of the Registrar.
If you have attended Macon State College within the past year, were not dismissed or have not attended another institution since, you do not have to reapply for admission. You may simply register for the next semester. You can do this online at http://www.maconstate.edu/banner/ or through your advisor.
If you have not attended Macon State College within the previous one calendar year(or longer) or have attended another institution during that period (except in a transient status from MSC to another institution) you are required to re-apply for admission. See example below. A $20 non-refundable fee is charged for re-admission.

Parking on Campus. When visiting the campus as a retuning student you will be required to comply with the College's parking policy which requires all students, faculty, staff and visitors to display a valid parking permit. Permits must be obtained from the Public Safety Office in the Sciences Annex (Entrance outside facing parking lot). Violators may be fined. For more information, see
http://www.maconstate.edu/publicSafety/docs/parkingPolicy.pdf
Academic Renewal. Former students who have experienced academic difficulty at Macon State in the past have an opportunity to make a fresh start at the College after an absence of five calendar years from any post-secondary institution. While all previously attempted course-work remains on the student's transcript, that work is excluded from the student's academic institutional GPA. For more information, former students considering this option should refer to the on-line catalog for more details. Applications may be mailed to the Registrar.
Transient Students: A former student who is planning to return to Macon State College as a "transient" student is indicating that he or she is currently enrolled as a degree-seeking student at another institution. In this status, transient students are enrolled at Macon State for a brief period (usually a semester) to obtain course-work that they plan to transfer back to their home institution to satisfy degree requirements at that institution. Transient students are required to furnish a letter (transient permission letter or form) from their home institution indicating that they are permitted to attend MSC temporarily. Usually the transient permission includes the courses they are expected to take. The College does not evaluate (for transfer credit purposes) any transcripts that may be furnished by "transient" students, nor are such transcripts required. Transient students are advised to request a transcript be sent to their home institution at the end of the term so that their course-work at Macon State may be posted to their academic record at that institution.
International Baccalaureate Credit: Macon State College awards course credit for International Baccalaureate courses. For more information, students should consult with an Admissions counselor when applying to the College.
