This report is prepared in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies surrounding the Macon Campus and the Warner Robins Campus. Information is also gathered from the Office of Student Affairs regarding disciplinary actions.
This information is posted to the Macon State College website. All former, current or prospective students, faculty and staff, and members of the general public have access to this information.

Community members, students, faculty, staff and guests have the right and responsibility to report all crimes and public safety related incidents to Campus Police in a timely manner. All reports will be investigated.
To report a crime or an emergency, follow the Emergency Care Procedures.
To report a violation of the Student Code of Conduct, contact the Office of Student Affairs. The Student Code of Conduct is available at http://www.maconstate.edu/studentlife/studentconduct/.
To report a behavior of concern, contact any member of the Behavioral Assessment Team or the Office of Student Affairs. See Behavioral Assessment Team at http://www.maconstate.edu/studentlife/studentconduct/bat.aspx.
All reports of criminal incidents will be reported to Macon State College's Department of Public Safety, who will have jurisdiction over any reported criminal activity at the Macon and Warner Robins Campuses. Crimes that qualify will be reported annual in the Macon State College crime statistics report.

Macon State College encourages anyone who is the victim or witness to any crime to promptly report the incident to Public Safety or to local law enforcement. Because police reports are public records under state law, Macon State cannot hold reports of crime in confidence.

During business hours, the campuses will be open to students, parents, employees, contractors, guests and invitees. During non-business hours access for authorized personnel to all College facilities is by key or key or by admittance via Public Safety. Any organized use of the campus by external parties must be approved by the College.
There are no residential facilities on the Macon or Warner Robins Campuses. Some facilities may have individual hours, which may vary at different times of the year. Examples are the Health Clinic, Library, ARC and Gymnasium. In these cases, the facilities will be secured according to their individual schedules.
Emergencies may necessitate changes or alterations to any posted schedules. Maintenance staff on both campuses routinely assess facilities for potential hazards

The offices of Public Safety are located in the Sciences Annex Building and are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The police, communications, and security staff are proud to serve the Macon State College campus community.
The Police Bureau of the Department of Public Safety employs sworn police officers who are certified by the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council. Macon State Police Officers have full arrest powers and are authorized to enforce all laws and administrative regulations within their respective jurisdiction. Other duties of police officers include traffic and parking enforcement, uniform patrol, service assists, and criminal investigations. In addition to police officers the Department of Public Safety staffs civilian personnel which include communication and security officers. These individuals assist the public with parking needs, campus safety issues, public information requests and a variety of security tasks. Macon State College Public Safety officers have the authority to ask persons for identification and to determine whether individuals have lawful business at Macon State College. Criminal incidents are referred to the campus police. Off-Duty Bibb County Deputy Sheriffs and Warner Robins Police Officers additionally serve as part-time Macon State College employees for additional campus safety. Just as Macon State Police these officers have complete police authority to apprehend and arrest anyone involved in illegal acts on-campus. These officers have direct radio communication with Public Safety.
Crime reports may be made at any time, either in person, online or by telephone at 478-471-2414. Crimes committed off campus should be reported to the City of Macon Police Department or the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. When using a telephone all emergencies should be reported by dialing 911 or (9)911 if dialing from a campus phone. All crime victims and witnesses are strongly encouraged to immediately report crimes to the Macon State College Police or to the appropriate police agency. Prompt reporting will assure timely warning notices on campus and timely disclosure of crime statistics.
