There has never been a more critical need for health care and health care providers in our communities. The ever changing demographics of our communities and population have resulted in an increased need for health care professionals. Many states are experiencing severe shortages of professionals in health care, and Georgia’s need is great. The shortage of registered nurses alone, for the state of Georgia, is projected to be 80,000 by the year 2020. Innovative and revolutionary changes in the way health care will be delivered in the future are resulting in exciting teaching and learning methodologies for our students. Now is the time to become part of a workforce that is both vital and rewarding.

Providing education programs that are market driven is central to the mission of Macon State College. The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Macon State College offers Associate and Bachelor degrees in specialty programs designed to provide qualified graduates with beginning and expanded practice roles in health care facilities. Associate Degrees are offered in Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, and Health Information Technology. Bachelor’s degrees are offered in Health Services Administration, Health Information Management and Nursing. The RN-BSN Completion Program is available for licensed registered nurses who are graduates of Diploma or Associate Degree Nursing programs and are seeking career and professional advancement.
