He chose Macon State College because of … “The environment. When I first came to Macon State I knew this would be the place for me. Growing up in my small hometown I developed a love for small communities, and I hate being just another face in the crowd. At Macon State, I never feel lost in the crowd because that crowd is made up of friends that I have made over the years. There is a sense of community and camaraderie at Macon State that is very hard to find these days, especially at a college. The professors here are of top-notch quality and really push you to be the best.”
The one thing that surprised him about Macon State was … “The student to teacher ratio. I thought that since Macon State was so affordable I probably wouldn’t ever get the chance to actually ask questions or talk one on one with my professor. I quickly found out that this was not the case! Excellent student/teacher ratio!”
His favorite professor is … “Out of all the amazing professors I’ve had, it is very difficult to pick just one. So my favorite would have to be a tie between Dr. John Patillo, Dr. Gerald Buffone, Dr. Dawn Sherry, June Jones, and Dr. Matthew Zimmerman. All these professors really strive to help you to be the best. These professors actually care about you and your success. To them you are not just another student, but a person with the potential to change the world.”
His favorite place to study is … “The second floor of the Library. It is usually very quiet there.”
One thing people don’t know about him is … “I love to experiment with things. My latest experiment involved me taking my fiancé to go pick up some dry ice and acetone to freeze a mason jar to the ground.”
His friends make fun of him because … “They say I study too much.”
The one person he’d most like to meet is … “Jesus Christ, because he has really changed my life! To sit down and talk face to face with my Savior would just be amazing!”
Five years from now he sees himself … “Completing my master’s degree, working on my doctorate and serving in the military in my area of specialty; married to my beautiful fiancé; and spending time with family and friends while taking whatever life has for me with a smile and a positive attitude.”
