Current Employment: “I am a full time student and I have a part-time job.”

Degree Objective: Bachelor of science in business with a major in marketing.

Class Rank: Senior.

Activities: Vice president of the Macon State Marketing Association, a club for marketing majors.

Career Goals: “I want to work with AmeriCorps or the Peace Corps when I finish my bachelor’s degree, and when I return I want to work for So So Def records in Atlanta. I would also like to obtain an MBA.”

She chose Macon State College because … “I felt comfortable in the Middle Georgia area, and Macon State College offered the flexibility I needed in my scheduling.”

The one thing that surprised her about Macon State was … “I have to say that the most surprising aspect of Macon State is that it used to be junior college because it now offers great bachelor’s degree programs.”

Her favorite professor is … “I cannot pick just one! I have been at Macon State for a long time and that would be unfair to pick just one favorite from all of the wonderful instructors I have had. My first professor was Dr. John Trimboli, and he made algebra easy to understand. Now that I am in my senior level courses my favorites are Charlie Aiken and Terry Sanders. The support staff at Macon State College is awesome. I really like Vanessa and Gina in the School of Business, Director of Student Life Dee Lindsey, and Phoebe in the front office of the Warner Robins Campus. All of these people have provided me with the support I need to succeed at Macon State College.”

Her favorite place to study is … “At home sitting at my kitchen table when it is quiet.”

One thing people don’t know about her is … “I was published in a poetry anthology at age 15.”

Her friends make fun of her because … “I am very outgoing and I will speak to anyone, anywhere. It doesn't matter if they are passing me on the street or in front of me in the grocery store, I will say hello and try to start a conversation with them.”

The one person she’d most like to meet is … “My grandfather, Johnny Britt, Sr. He passed away when my dad was only 4 years old. He used to travel a lot and was in the Marines! I would love to sit with him and hear about the experiences he had in his life. I would love to know more about our family history and I would like to ask him if his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have made him proud.”

Five years from now she sees herself … “If you would have asked me this five years ago I wouldn't have known the answer and, truth be told, I still don't know. Life changes so much and we sometimes cannot control the things that happen. Hopefully I will be happy and savoring every moment of life.”
