Degree Objective: Business.
Class Rank: Freshman.
Activities: Vice president, Macon State College Student African American Brotherhood, or SAAB.
Career Goals: “After I graduate from Macon State I would like to pursue my master of divinity and maybe even a doctorate in theology. I want to be able to own several businesses to help those who are in need of a job, and also help those who have criminal backgrounds who want to better their lives but are finding that society won’t give them a second chance. I would like to be a motivational speaker to encourage men of all ages. I want to fulfill my dream of preaching to tell people the truth, because so many times people alter what the Bible really says. I want to get to the exact truth.”
He chose Macon State College because … “I was employed at Macon State for five years before going to school. My manager at the time would constantly encourage me to start school, so it made sense to go to school where I work. (It’s also a great gas saver.)”
The one thing that surprised him about Macon State was … “How dedicated and sincere the people who work here are. They help you get into school and want to see you do better in life. I also love the environment and working on the campus. Macon State is like a home away from home.”
His favorite professor is … “Dr. Ervin Briones, because he is not only a very funny professor but he is passionate about what he teaches and is concerned for his students.”
His favorite place to study is … “The Library. I can get away from everyone and everything in order to study.”
One thing people don’t know about him is … “I am an example of how people truly can change.”
His friends make fun of him because of … “My big head.”
The one person he’d most like to meet is … “Kirk Nugent, a motivational speaker I consider to be very profound. I heard him speak at the SAAB national conference and he inspired me so much with his story of the past and present. I would like to sit down with him just to hear what wisdom and knowledge he could share with me and to hear more of his story.”
Five years from now he sees himself … “Being a motivational speaker and a great role model to men about my age. I want to show that you can go far and beyond the expectations of what people think and say you will be and that you won’t have to be another statistic. I also see myself owning a few businesses, writing a few books, and being a pastor of a church.”
