She chose Macon State College because … “It’s very close to home and affordable. A couple of people I know told me Macon State would be a good school for me to attend. They didn't mention it would be tough, though. Macon State offers most of the classes I need in order to get into graduate school.”
The one thing that surprised her about Macon State was … “The professors. They are no joke. The first thing they tell you is that college is not the 13th grade, and then they prove it with tests that make you want to cry. There are some hard, but good, professors here at Macon State College.”
Her favorite professor is … "Dr. Dawn Sherry. She is an excellent biology professor. Her lectures are very good and she always has a couple of jokes to tell. Dr. Kim Pickens is also up there with my favorite professors. She makes learning about plants interesting and she is also a good joke-teller. Both of these biology professors are awesome.”
Her favorite place to study is … “Wherever I can find peace and quiet! Most of the time I find it easy to study in a study room in the Library. When the Library is packed and the weather is warm, I like to sit outside on campus.”
One thing people don’t know about her is … “Well, don’t laugh, but my ears are different. One boring day in middle school, my friend discovered that the ear on the left side of my head is different than the right. She said I had an elf ear and a human ear. She calls me helf.”
Her friends make fun of her because … “I'm very nerdy, and the weirdest things happen to me. I recently fell in front of a hospital when I went there to visit a friend. My friends also pick on my height. They all say I'm short but in reality they are just abnormally tall.”
The one person she’d most like to meet is … “Either Kanye West or Mary J. Blige. I would like to meet Kanye West because he is my favorite rap artist and we were both once art majors. Plus, I like his bizarre sense of fashion. I would like to meet Mary J. Blige because she is my favorite singer. She is the kind of singer who expresses her feelings through her voice. Her voice can make you happy or make you want to cry. Both of these artists inspire me to work hard.”
Five years from now she sees herself … “In grad school, perhaps engaged. I see myself up to my neck with work to be done. I also see myself getting closer to becoming a veterinarian. Five years is a long time, so a lot could happen.”
