Career Goals: “My goal is to be a veterinarian, with a specialization in exotic animals. I don’t just love animals, I am fascinated by them.”
He chose Macon State College because … “It is affordable and offers a great quality education. I also love that even though I am still in Macon, I still get that ‘away from home’ feeling. I also love how the professors really care about you and your success.”
The one thing that surprised him about Macon State was … “The intensity of the classes. I never thought it would be easy but my course load truly blows my mind at times. The professors set high expectations for their students, and that’s a good thing.”
His favorite professor is … "Dr. Thomas Sawicki is by far my favorite professor. I took Biology 2108 from him and it was the most challenging class I have taken in my college career. It only increased my desire to learn the material for his class. He took our class to new levels of learning and his enthusiasm is truly awesome. Dr.Sawicki's presence energizes you and he is like that every time you meet him, even outside the classroom.”
His favorite place to study is … “Upstairs in the Library at the table in front of the window that looks out over campus. It is a very calming spot and when you look up from your book you have a wonderful view of the campus.”
One thing people don’t know about him is … “I am a puppy walker. I help train guide puppies on the weekend and I love it. Also, I enjoy watching cartoons, especially after a long week of classes. It’s a good way to relax.”
His friends make fun of him because … “I stress really easily.”
The one person he’d most like to meet is … “My father, again. He died when I was 14, and to see him again just to share some life experiences I have had would be great. At 14 I hadn’t even really started living and now I have so much to tell him.”
Five years from now he sees himself … “Finishing up veterinarian school. Married but no kids just yet. Hopefully on the next plane to California if things go according to plan. I really plan to travel a lot.”
