Question Bubble Full Name: Sarah Ashley Frye-Mitchell.

Question Bubble Age: 23

Question Bubble Hometown: Butler

Question Bubble Residence: Reynolds

Question Bubble High School: Taylor County High School

Question Bubble Family: "I'm married to a wonderful man named Sam Mitchell; we have a son (my stepson), named Zachary. My parents are Kevin and Renee Frye of Butler."

Question Bubble Current Employment: Editor-in-chief of the Macon Statement student newspaper.

Question Bubble Degree Objective: Bachelor of Science in New Media and Communications.

Question Bubble Class Rank: Senior

Question Bubble Activities: "I'm editor-in-chief of the Macon Statement and was previously a reporter and anchor for MSC-TV (one may remember me as the friendly Goth weather girl). I've also been involved with the Gay-Straight Alliance."

Question Bubble Career Goals: "I'd like to work in some sort of journalism field, though I'm not entirely sure what that may be at the moment. I've made sure to try both film and print journalism while I'm a student so as to inform my decision later."

Question Bubble She chose Macon State College because ... "It was close to home when I was still living with my parents. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful when I was enrolling (as I had no clue as to what I was doing!). I generally liked the atmosphere of the campus; it was closer knit and more accessible than the other schools I had seen."

Question Bubble The one thing that surprised her about Macon State was ... "How prepared the professors were to handle clueless freshmen. I had always been told in high school that college was a sink or swim experience, and if you didn't get it the first time there was no hope for you. I didn't find this attitude at Macon State. My freshmen instructors were happy to take extra time to help new students adjust to college life."

Question Bubble Her favorite professor is ... "Dr. Sheree Keith. I've taken about half a dozen classes with her, including all of my journalism and public speaking classes. I still go to her for any sort of advising. I think she was instrumental in helping me come out of my shell when I came here. Believe it or not, particularly to those who know me personally, I used to be shy!"

Question Bubble Her favorite place to study is ... "At home. I enjoy being on campus, but there is nothing like secluding yourself from the hustle of student traffic to get work done. I also just find it more comfortable to be in a familiar environment."

Question Bubble One thing people don't know about her is ... "In high school I was in the flag corp for a year."

Question Bubble Her friends make fun of her because ... "I'm a Goth, so I dress as if every day were Halloween. This inspires many light-hearted jokes from my friends about my clothing and home decor choices."

Question Bubble The one person she'd most like to meet is ... "Edgar Allan Poe. I know it seems like a cliché, but I've been reading his work since I was six years old and he has been a very great inspiration to me."

Question Bubble Five years from now she sees herself ... "With a job in my field hopefully, still married, watching my stepson grow up, and generally trying to live life as well as I can. One can never really predict how things are going to end up, but I'm sure I'll be happy."
