Macon State will soon begin recruiting 50 additional associate’s degree nursing students for the Warner Robins Campus. The new student cohort will kick off in spring semester, which begins January 7, 2013.
Macon State received $452,000 through the Complete College Georgia initiative to hire five new nursing faculty in order to be able to admit more students into both the A.S. and B.S. nursing programs. The School of Nursing & Health Sciences is also working on expanding online course offerings to make it easier for the associate’s degree graduates, once they are practicing RNs, to earn a bachelor’s through the RN-BSN program. A cohort of 35 students began the nursing program at the Warner Robins Campus in fall 2011.
The application period for the new associate’s degree class on the Warner Robins Campus is July 2-August 31, 2012. An online application is at www.maconstate.edu/nursing/associates/application.aspx.
Applicants must:
• Already be enrolled or re-enrolled into Macon State with at least a 2.5 GPA and a “good standing” academic status. New students or students who have not attended Macon State in at least two years must apply for general admission before August 15 at www.maconstate.edu/admissions.
• Take the TEAS Skills V assessment (nursing entrance exam) or electronically submit a TEAS transcript (dated between February 16, 2011 and August 31, 2012). See www.maconstate.edu/nursing/associates/TEAS.aspx.
