Eighteen Macon State College faculty members have been promoted and/or awarded tenure, effective with the 2012-2013 academic year.

The following were promoted to the rank of associate professor and awarded tenure:

•    Dr. Yunsuk Chae – Media, Culture, and the Arts
•    Dr. Karmen Lenz – English
•    Dr. Laura Thomason – English
•    Dr. Naomi Robertson – History and Political Science
•    Dr. Vicki Luther – Education
•    Dr. Sheree Keith – Media, Culture, and the Arts
•    Dr. Gaston Brouwer – Mathematics
•    Dr. Blanche Presley – Mathematics
•    Dr. Rita Lumansoc – Nursing
•    Dr. Benita Muth – English
•    Dr. Darrell Thompson – Nursing
•    Dr. Julie Lester – History and Political Science
•    Dr. John Pattillo – Natural Science
•    Dr. Terry Smith – Information Technology
•    Dr. Kelly Whiddon – Media, Culture, and the Arts

Also, Dr. Frank Ryerson of the School of Business was promoted to full professor and Dr. Pamela Bedwell of the School of Education was awarded tenure.
