Macon State Phi Beta Lambda Students Excel in Competition

The Macon State College chapter of Phi Beta Lambda competed at South District Competitions held at Okefenokee Technical College in Waycross on March 2. Nine students from Macon State placed in every event they participated in. A total of 20 certificates were brought home, with six first place, six second place, four third place, one fourth place and three fifth place certificates.

The chapter also placed second in the Battle of the Chapters PBL Knowledge competition. Macon State was represented in that event by Tradarius Johnson of Macon and Kathleen-Salcedo Waits of Warner Robins.

First place winners were Stephanie Nauss of Warner Robins in Business Communications; Richard Skillen of Warner Robins in Business Decision Making; Nedra Hobson of Macon in Future Business Executive; Kaleb Clark of Macon in Job Interview group A; Crystal Harris of Warner Robins in Macroeconomics; and Marie Giordanella of Warner Robins in Management Concepts.

Students who won second place include: Kathleen Salcedo-Waits in Business Communications and Parliamentary Procedures; Rosaly Aponte of Warner Robins in  Business Decision Making; Crystal Harris in International Business; and Nedra Hobson in Marketing Concepts.

Third place included:  Stephanie Nauss of in Management Concepts; Rosaly Aponte in Accounting Principles and Marie Giordanella of in Human Resource Management.

In fourth place:  Kaleb Clark in Macroeconomics.

Students who placed fifth include: Tradarius Johnson in Parliamentary Procedures and Human Resource Management; and Richard Skillen in Impromptu Speaking.

The chapter is preparing to compete at the State competition held in Atlanta on April 13-15.
