From the MSC Foundation Chairman

Dear Friends & Supporters:

What a fantastic year it’s been for Macon State College! Student enrollment grew by 9 percent, which was on top of a 16 percent increase the previous two years. The Board of Regents approved a bachelor of science in nursing degree. Construction began on the $16.2 million Nursing, Health Sciences and Outreach Complex. The Georgia Legislature awarded $5 million to build a permanent Macon State campus in Houston County.

The growth and success of the College runs parallel to this year’s impressive achievements of the MSC Foundation. We raised more than $330,000, a 97 percent increase over last year! This phenomenal growth helps the Foundation to keep pace with the College’s accelerated progress. The MSC Foundation will help support the increasing student population by providing more scholarships, greater faculty development opportunities, enhanced academic programs and an increasing number of business outreach initiatives.

The MSC Foundation’s Annual Report is designed to show how your support of the College is helping Central Georgia to prosper. Behind all Foundation scholarships are students who can now realize their academic dreams and accomplish great things in their professional and personal lives. Behind every opportunity the Foundation gives to Macon State faculty members to enhance their teaching skills is an even more vibrant academic environment where students can thrive. Behind the support the Foundation gives to hosting a variety of regional and statewide groups on campus is another chance to demonstrate the economic and cultural impact this College is having on our community.

As you know, state funding covers the basic needs of Georgia’s public colleges, but it is private support that is crucial to helping Macon State maintain the excellence it has achieved. On behalf of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, please accept my sincere thanks for your generous donations of time and resources into Macon State College. I promise that your investments will pay handsome dividends for Central Georgia.
