The Macon State
College Foundation Board of Trustees welcomes the following new
members:

Virgil
L. Adams, partner in the law firm Adams, Jordan & Treadwell,
P.C. A graduate of Albany State University, where he received a
bachelor of science in psychology, and Mercer Universitys
Walter F. George School of Law, Adams is a founding member and current
vice president of the Macon-Middle Georgia chapter of 100 Black
Men Inc. He is a member of the boards of directors for Century South
Bank in Macon, Albany State Alumni Association and the Tubman African
American Museum. Adams is also chair of the Bibb County school systems
Male Crisis Task Force and a member of Macon Mayor C. Jack Ellis
Diversity Committee. A graduate of Leadership Macon and Leadership
Georgia, Adams was named as one of the Outstanding Future Leaders
of America by Ebony Magazine.

John
Thomas Mitchell Sr., retired senior vice president for public
and governmental affairs at Mercer University. Mitchells career
at Mercer spanned 40 years, beginning as director of admissions.
(In 1962, Mitchell admitted the first black student, Sam Oni, to
Mercer.) He later served as athletics director and special assistant
to the president and is listed in Whos Who among college administrators.
A recipient of the Lobbyist Lifetime Achievement Award, Mitchell
has served on a variety of community and civic boards in Central
Georgia. Currently, he serves on the governing authorities of the
Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and the Georgia National Fairgrounds
and Agricenter. He is vice chair of the board of directors of Capital
City Bank.

Warren Selby Jr., president, Warren Associates Inc., commercial
building contractors. A graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor
of science in building science, Selby in 1998 was chosen one of
Georgias 40 Under 40 young leaders by Georgia
Trend magazine. He is a member of the board of directors of Stratford
Academy and the MedCen Foundation, a founding director of Rivoli
Bank & Trust and is chair, district trustees, of the South Georgia
Conference of the United Methodist Church. Selby is also a Leadership
Macon graduate and vice chair of the Bibb County Code Review Committee.
