Holiday Schedule

The State of Georgia permits 12 holidays each year. The following schedule will be followed at Macon State College in observance of these holidays:

2013 Holiday Calendar and Operating Hours

Operating Hours:

Regular (Approximately Aug - May))

                    8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday with a 30 minute lunch
                    8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Friday

(Please Note: When a week begins with a Monday holiday, for example, Labor Day, the College will stay open until 1:00pm on Friday of that week.)

Summer (approximately June and July)

                  7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday with a 30 minute lunch

December 2013 Closing

Middle Georgia State College will continue the tradition of both Macon State College and Middle Georgia College of closing for an extended holiday period in December in an effort to reduce utility costs. Staff employees will be required to take 18 hours of annual leave.

The College will close at noon on Friday, December 20, 2013 and reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014. The required leave schedule will be as follows:

                    Monday, December 30, 2013               9 hours annual leave 
                   Tuesday, December 31, 2013               9 hours annual leave

We will return to work on Thursday, January 2, 2014 with the following work hours at all campus locations:

                    Thursday, January 2              8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch
                    Friday, January 3                   8:00 a.m.  - 1:00 p.m. with no lunch
