Regular employees working one-half or more, who have a death in the immediate family (see Sick Leave for definition of immediate family) may be granted sick leave for absences related to death. Sick leave granted to employees in excess of five days for death in the immediate family may require a physicians statement, and it should be attached to the employee's time sheet.
Employees who work less than half time may be granted time off due to a death in the immediate family. However, since such employees do not accrue sick or vacation leave, their leave will be non-compensated.
