2009 Conference Information

Student Paper Proposal Submissions

2009 Conference to be held at Valdosta State University
February 27 & 28, 2009

GCHC's 2009 Conference Theme:

"Environments"

That many environments in the modern world are fragile, imperiled, or precarious (dangerous, treacherous, unsettling are other possibilities) is becoming increasingly obvious. The challenge for honors students is not only how to negotiate these environments?be they political, academic, or natural?but how to protect, sustain, or alter them. The Georgia Collegiate Honors Council wants to hear your insights about the environments important to you and to the wider global community.

Potential Topics:

The Honors environment

Honors pedagogy

Political environments

International territories

Cross-cultural landscapes

Interdisciplinary constructs

Literary influences and values

Conflict resolution

Biological and chemical realms

Biological diversity

Contiguous environments

Borderlands

As always, GCHC welcomes proposals that will present academic work produced in Honors classes even if the topic does not directly address the conference theme.
