Annual Scholarship Reception Held September 22, 2009


Nearly 150 Macon State College faculty, staff, alumni and friends gathered on September 22, 2009 to pay special tribute to scholarship recipients and donors at the Foundation’s Annual Scholarship Recognition Ceremony. Dr. Martha Venn, vice president for academic affairs, recognized the 2009-2010 recipients, presenting each with a certificate reflecting their scholarship award. Foundation Executive Director Sue B. Chipman announced the establishment of four new scholarships over the past year: Dr. Barbara Thomas Frizzell Endowed Scholarship in Business, Kaiser Permanente Nursing, The Billy and Bobby Stevens Foundation and MidSouth Federal Credit Union.  Click here to learn more about these and other established scholarships.

Scholarships awarded this year included Presidential Scholarships (recipients pictured above), which are worth up to $20,000 each for top-ranking students who are pursuing bachelor’s degrees at Macon State.
