The School of Education offers the Bachelor of Science major in early childhood and special education,
the Bachelor of Science major in middle grades education with the opportunity to earn dual certification in general and special education, and
secondary education tracks in biology, English, history, and mathematics for candidates interested in teaching at the high school level.
The early childhood education program prepares graduates to be eligible for dual certification in early childhood and special education. Special emphasis is being provided in differentiated instruction so our graduates know how to customize their teaching methods for students with a variety of abilities, including children with learning challenges and those children who are gifted. <click here for more>
The middle school teacher certification qualifies candidates to teach children in the fourth through eighth grades. Additional details about this program may be found in the news release here.
The secondary education tracks with certification option prepare biology, English, history or math majors to be eligible to teach in high school. Additional information about these tracks may be found by following this link or browse the web pages of the School of Arts and Sciences.
