Students: How-To Login to Desire2Learn (D2L)

In order to log into the MSC D2L system, you need to have a user name and a password. Your user name is the same account name you use to log into the MSC network. Typically it follows this format: firstname.lastname

Another way of deciphering what your user name is to look at the first part of your email address which typically is: firstname.lastname@maconstate.edu

If you have to have a common first and last name (like John Smith), you may have a number appended to the end of your user name, so it might be firstname.lastname2 (for example: john.smith2)

By default, student passwords in D2L are set to their MSCID. If you don’t know your user name or MSCID, you can go to this webpage and get this information:

Please note that students will not be able to get into their D2L classes until the first day of classes. For Spring 2013 semester this means Monday (January 7). This means if you log into the system before this time your classes will NOT appear.
