About Macon State
Desire2Learn (D2L) will become the new Learning Management System of Macon State College starting Spring Semester 2013. It's a relatively easy way to create a course web site. A D2L course site allows "anytime, anywhere" access to syllabi, readings, multi-media files, electronic dropboxes, online quizzes, communication, grading, student progress reports, etc.
The Open Lab Sessions are designed to help students learn the new Desire2Learn system.
The following is a list of courses that have been migrated from Vista into D2L:
This does not include student information so be sure to backup your grade books from Vista before January 2013.
Fall 2012 content migration will begin on December 18, 2012. It will take 3 weeks for it to complete. It is entirely possible that the content will not be moved into D2L until after classes begin in Spring 2013.
The GeorgiaVIEW official comment on this is, ”Since the migration may not be completed until some institutions’ spring 2013 semester is underway, GeorgiaVIEW encourages institutions to prepare spring 2013 courses based on earlier course migrations and reiterates its recommendation for institutions not to rely on fall 2012 migrated courses for use during the spring 2013 semester.”
