For the 2010 fall, 2011 spring and 2011 summer semesters only, students who passed ENGL 1101 with a grade of "C" or higher and ENGL 1102 with a grade of "D" or higher will qualify for the exemption.
Starting in the 2011 fall semester and every semester thereafter, students who pass ENGL 1101 with a grade of "C" or higher and ENGL 1102 with a grade of "C" or higher will qualify for the exemption.

Does the exemption apply to transient students?
There is no Regents’ Test requirement for transient students. If such students switch to degree-seeking, then the requirement will be shown as satisfied upon successful completion of English 1101 and English 1102.

What grades did students who were enrolled in a Regents' Skills Course (RGTR 0198 or RGTE 0199) during the 2010 fall semester receive?
Students who satisfactorily completed an RGT course - accomplished the classroom academics and passed the Regents' Test - received an "S" grade. Those students who did not successfully complete an RGT course received a grade of "U". Students who received "U" grades are not required to retake the course because these courses will no longer be offered.
