The College-Level Examination Program®, or CLEP, examinations cover material taught in courses that most students take as requirements in the first two years of college. A college usually grants the same amount of credit to students earning satisfactory scores on the CLEP examination as it grants to students successfully completing that course.

Each exam is approximately 90 minutes long, and, except for English Composition with Essay, is made up primarily of multiple-choice questions; however, some exams do have fill-ins.

Students should check the college catalog for course equivalents, passing scores, and hours awarded for each test.  Also, students should consult with their advisor prior to taking any credit examination to ensure it fits into their degree plan.

The subject areas and specific examinations offered are listed below.

Notes:

1. (M) indicates that this exam is accepted by Macon State College for credit but students should check their degree plans to ensure this course counts toward graduation before taking the test.

2. (CCAF) indicates that this exam is accepted by the Community College of the Air Force for Leadership Management, General Education, or Program Elective courses.

3. Students may only take one CLEP test during a scheduled session.
