Wendi Hicks

Wendi is originally from Moultrie, Georgia. She grew up in South Georgia and competed in USG and YMCA gymnastics. She was a competitive gymnast and placed 4th in the Nation at Y-Nationals in 2003. After suffering from an ACL tear her senior year in High School, Wendi went on to attend Mercer University in Macon, Ga upon graduation. While at Mercer, Wendi was on the cheerleading squad, began teaching dance and coaching 7th – 12th grade tumbling, joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, and served as a representative of SAAC. Wendi attained her Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Theatre Arts with a minor in Spanish. She and her mother have since written two children’s books, and produced one stage play of one of the books. Wendi is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Wendi has been with Macon State College since August 2011.
