All entering students at MSC with a high school GPA of 3.5 or better and/or a combined SAT score of at least 1100, with a verbal score of 580 or higher, are invited via a letter from the Honors Program Director to enroll in Honors Program courses, thereby formally entering the Honors Program.
Students who have earned a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 after completing 15 or more semester hours in academic programs at Macon State College (regardless of SAT score) may enroll in Honors Program courses, thereby formally entering the Honors Program.
Students who believe that traditional measures are not indicative of their potential for academic success may seek special consideration for admission to the Honors Program. To do so, students should submit a letter of appeal, along with two letters of recommendation from Macon State College faculty members, to the Honors Program Director.
Students are required to maintain a minimum cumulative academic GPA of 3.0 in order to remain in the Honors Program.
All Honors Program students in good standing are eligible for membership in the Honors Student Association (see the "Students" section of this web site). This organization allows students to develop leadership skills by coordinating Honors students' involvement with campus activities.
